Preparatory education for vocational basic education for immigrants (or MAVA) 30 August 2012 - 5 June 2013

With these studies a student improves his or her Finnish language skills, studying skills as well as know-how of the working life. MAVA readies students for further education and Finnish work life. The goal of the preparatory education is to enhance the students' possibilities to get into vocational education institutions.
Students are given individual tutoring and support. A personal study plan is created for every student. Students will also complete at least four weeks of learning through work.
Studying and accommodation are free of charge. The lessons take approximately 25 hours a week.

- Finnish language 10 - 20 sw
- English language 0 - 4 sw
- natural sciences (mathematics, chemistry, physics, information technology) 3 - 7 sw
- social science and cultural knowledge 3 - 7 sw
- studying and work life skills 4 - 8 sw
- learning through work 4 sw
- optional studies 0 - 4 sw
Entrance requirements
- residence permit
- Finnish language level A.2.2
- ability to read and write
- motivation for further education and employment

How to apply?
The applicants are invited for a test and an interview (to test their Finnish language skills) based on their applications (you can fill the application form HERE). The interviews take place 15-17th of May and 15-17th of August. If necessary, the interviews can be done remotely via Skype.
The deadline for applying is 14th of August 2012
