Vocational Qualification in Business and Administration Study Programme in Information and Library Services

The Information and Library Services Programme at upper secondary level is a 3-year full time course. For admission completion of the nine-year comprehensive school is required.
Those who have completed this study programme know how to attend to customer service assignment in the field of information and library services such as lending, returning, reservations and renewals. They can assist customers in finding their required sources of information and search for information in literature and information networks, develop and organise collections, order library material, prepare material for use, plan and implement the library's presentations and exhibitions etc.
Those who have completed the Study Programme in Information and Library Services, may function in different positions in public and scientific specialist libraries, such as information centre assistants, information service secretaries, assistant libraries and library secretaries. The studies include also a large variety of cultural studies, which gives the student a good readiness for working in various multivocational tasks in the library and culture field.
