Vocational Qualification in Youth and Leisure Instruction
(Youth and Leisure Instructor)

The the Youth and Leisure Instruction Programme at upper secondary level is a 3-year full time course. For admission completion of the nine-year comprehensive school is required. Those who have completed the Vocational Qualification in Youth and Leisure Instruction may function in youth and leisure activities in the public sector, organisations and projects as employees or self-employed entrepreneurs.

The training involves following subjects:

1. Core subjects (20 cr) 

2. Vocational studies  (90 cr) 

2.1. Obligatory modules:

  • Interaction and communications

  • Individual and group instruction

  • Instruction in different operating environments

  • Instruction in  civic and organizational activities

  • Instruction of project activities

2.2. Optional modules:

  • Instruction of  multicultural activities

  • Prevention of young people's marginalization

  • Production of youth and leisure services

  • Instruction of physical education

  • Instruction of culture

  • Youth work with media and internet

  • Instruction of special groups

         The studies include 31 credits of work training.

3. Free-choice studies (10 cr)

Diploma work is included in the studies
 
All education is provided in Finnish.
