Theatre and Cinematic Art Programme


( one-year general education study programme)

The Theatre and Cinematic Art Programme offers a wide knowledge of the basics of  theatre and cinematic art and prepairs the student for vocational studies in the field. The purpose of the studies is first and foremost to familiarize the student with the actor's work both on the stage and in front of the camera. The study programme gives the student  readiness to develop his/her professional identity on the way to an occupation in the field of performing arts. The student gets both theoretical and experimental readiness to work in various teams and productions of theatre and cinematic art in his/her further vocational studies.

Theatre studies

•   actor's work (basics and productions)
•   theatre expression
•   dramaturgy and drama literature
•   stagecraft, light and sound design
•   theatre lore (occupational knowhow and performance culture)

Film studies

•   acting in a film (basics and productions)
•   producing (film and video productions)
•   film technique, light and sound design
•   film lore (occupational knowhow and film culture)

Written and artistic study.

The Theatre and Cinematic Art Programme cooperates with the corresponding Polytechnic Degree Programme of Central Ostrobothnia University of Applied Sciences.
